Upcoming Community Meeting

The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System invites residents, property owners, and other stakeholders to attend an important community meeting to discuss the 700S 1600E PCE Superfund Site. This meeting is a valuable opportunity to learn about the 700S 1600E PCE Superfund Site, ask questions, and provide input on future remediation efforts.

Questions This Meeting Will Answer

How did we get here? An engineer from CDM Smith, the firm supporting the cleanup, will review the site’s history and explain how the PCE-impacted groundwater area has changed over time.

What can a Cancer Cluster Study tell us? Representatives from the Utah Department of Health and Human Services and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality will discuss how cancer cluster studies are conducted, the challenges involved, and what types of findings and results communities can expect from such studies.

What’s the VA’s plan? The VA will share an update on its proposed groundwater cleanup plan, including its preferred treatment approach. The plan will soon be open for public review and comment.

Can I get my home tested? The VA will provide an update on the indoor air sampling program and discuss plans for sampling in winter 2027.
